Q: Why do i need a toner in my skincare routine?
A: In general, toners are there to provide and bind moisture into the skin to create supple and bouncy texture. Keeping our skin hydrated is extremely important because when our skin is dry, it may cause other skin problems such as breakouts, over production of oils, wrinkles and saggy skin.

Toners also acts as a BOOSTER. Imagine that our skin is like a dried-up sponge. While you wash the top surface of your skin with cleansing, the inner layers are actually still dry like a dried-up sponge. If you put a thick cream on a brittle dry sponge, it won't accept it as the surface isn't prepped for moisture. But if you wet the sponge, the cream will sink in more easily.

Not only that, toner helps the skin to absorb products better. Your skin will stay moisturised for longer. Why is that so? Like we said, our skin is like a sponge. Do you remember how a wet sponge picks up water so much better than a dry sponge? That is because water molecules are highly attracted to one another than anything else. It’s the same thing with skin. “Wet” your skin first with toner, and it will help draw in more of whatever you put on next. This is also why you should apply skin care products right after cleansing, while your skin is still moist. Koreans call this the 1 minute rule! You have to apply your first product within the golden time of 1 minute!
